Hi! I’m Ava, founder and creator of Inherently Valued Wellness, IVW. I specialize in helping adults, adolescents and children begin their healing process to unlock their inherent value. I believe our thoughts influence our feelings about ourselves and therefore our behavior and the choices we make.

Professional Background

Education

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as well as a Master's Degree in Social Work, specializing in schools and clinical therapy. In addition, I have a Master's Degree in Educuational Leadership from Concordia University. My academic background equips me with in-depth knowledge and practical skills to support clients effectively on their wellness journey.

Certifications

As a licensed clinical social worker, I adhere to ethical standards and best practices in the field of mental and emotional well-being. My certification ensures that I provide professional and competent wellness services, prioritizing the holistic well-being of my clients.

Experience

I have more than 17 years of experience in the field of wellness, clinical therapy, school social work, and supervision. I have worked with diverse populations facing a variety challenges. My extensive experience enables me to offer tailored interventions and holistic support to every individual seeking mental and emotional well-being.

I engage in a holistic approach to my wellness services, I focus on the unique needs of each individual. I utilize evidence-based techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices to help my clients identify and challenge their thought patterns. I encourage open communication and self-exploration that allows my clients to gain deeper insights into their emotions and behaviors within a safe and supportive environment. My aim is to empower my clients to cultivate resilience and develop effective coping strategies for all of life's challenges.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults to address a wide range of issues, including:

  • Family Conflict: Helping families improve communication, resolve disputes, and strengthen bonds.

  • Trauma: Supporting individuals in processing traumatic events and developing resilient.

  • Stress and Anxiety Management: Offering coping mechanisms and relaxation techniques to reduce stress and anxiety in everyday life.

I participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay knowledgeable about the current research and wellness approaches. Continuing to expanding my knowledge and skills, I ensure that my clients receive the best and current wellness and therapeutic interventions.
